Your Questions Answered

What happens in a meeting?

We start with a 30 minute weigh in, followed by a motivational discussion, lasting around half an hour. So, time for a cuppa and a chat with other Weigh with Janet members!

Will I be charged missed weeks?

No…. BUT we do encourage attending every week, as this is proven to keep you motivated and support you on your weight loss journey.

How do I choose my Maintenance Weight?

The NHS uses a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index) as a guideline to healthy weight, so that will be our starting point, but we will take into account how you feel, and how much weight you have lost. Weigh with Janet will help you choose a sustainable healthy weight.

How much will I pay?

You pay £5 a week if you choose to pay weekly or we offer a monthly membership fee of £15 per calendar month (paid in advance). No contracts, no joining fees, and no missed weeks!

I’m already at a maintenance weight, do I have to pay?

Yes, as a new member with an existing maintenance weight we charge £5 a week for your first 4 weigh ins or you can pay £15 for your first calendar month. After this period, if you are at your maintenance weight you will be awarded WOW membership status with Weigh with Janet and join the £1 club.

How much weight can I expect to lose?

Healthy weight loss guidelines are 1 - 2lbs each week whilst staying within a calorie controlled budget. Although, in the early weeks of a weight loss plan this may be a bit more. Please note, Weigh with Janet does not promote or support rapid weight loss.

What about member confidentiality?

All Weigh with Janet meetings are private and confidential. Your membership and weight loss journey details are held in the strictest of confidence and only used to support your journey by your meeting l

What happens when I get to my maintenance weight?

We celebrate your success!  We also encourage you to continue weighing in each week, with a minimum of once a calendar month. This allows us to support you on your maintenance journey! When you reach your chosen maintenance weight, you’ll become a WOW member and join the £1 club. If you stay within 5lb of your maintenance weight you will pay just £1 per week to attend your meetings. If you exceed the 5lb maintenance weight flexibility zone, you will pay the regular meeting fee until you are back within 5lb of your maintenance weight.  (We would love to offer free meetings to our WOW members, but as a small independent business we have to cover our costs and show a profit!!!)

Can I attend Weigh with Janet meetings for support regardless of what weight loss plan I am following?

Yes, all you need to do is pay the relevant membership fee.  Weigh with Janet provides weight loss support and the meeting discussions are designed to support, motivate and inspire you. We talk about liveable strategies to help on your weight loss journey which are applicable to most plans.

Please note, that Weigh with Janet does not endorse, advise or give guidance on any other plans and/or extreme diets within the meetings or on social media platforms.

Do I need to weigh at every session?

No, not at all. If at any time you feel that weighing would not support your well-being or be detrimental to your journey you can then take a no weigh option. However, you will be expected to check in with me at the scales in order to support you moving forward, and encourage to join the meeting discussion. Weekly/Monthly membership fees still apply.

Can I attend the sessions whilst I am pregnant?

Unfortunately not. We are not qualified to give advice on weight loss during pregnancy. Please take advice about your weight and weight loss from your midwife. Once the baby is born and you have had your 6 week check-up you can then return to meetings.
